Common Plumbing Challenges in Arlington, MA

Arlington homeowners face some specific plumbing challenges that our team is trained to handle:

1 Aging Water Service Lines

Arlington is an old town with many water service lines of unknown material. The Town has identified over 3,500 properties that may have pipes needing inspection. Our plumbers can help you determine what type of pipes you have and recommend the best solutions to keep your water safe and flowing.

2 Lead Pipe Concerns

Some Arlington homes still have lead service lines or copper pipes with lead solder installed before 1986. We can inspect your plumbing, test for problems, and provide safe replacement options that meet current EPA Lead and Copper Rule requirements.

3 Winter Freeze Protection

New England winters are tough on plumbing. When temperatures drop, pipes in unheated areas like basements, attics, and crawl spaces can freeze and burst. We offer winterization services and fast emergency response when the cold weather causes problems.

4 Historic Home Plumbing

Many Arlington homes were built before 1940 and have plumbing systems that are over 80 years old. Galvanized steel pipes, cast iron drains, and outdated fixtures are common. Our team has the experience to work on these older systems while preserving your home’s character.

5 Tree Root Intrusion

Arlington’s beautiful mature trees can cause problems when roots grow into sewer lines. We use camera inspection to find root damage and provide effective cleaning and repair solutions to restore proper drainage.

Arlington Neighborhoods We Serve

Waterworks Mechanical proudly serves homeowners and businesses throughout all of Arlington, MA, including:

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a persistent slow drainage problem with a sink in my apartment and Peter did a fantastic job fixing this. In 2 hrs he was able to replace an old section of pipe, clear obstructions and have the sink working better than it ever did during my time living there. I will be saving Peter's contact info for all future plumbing needs.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Peter of Waterworks Mechanical Inc. came right away at night when there was an emergency with a water heater breaking and flooding the basement. He did what was necessary for the night, then came back the next day and replaced that water heater, and the other one that was of the same age, before it did the same thing. He also replaced piping that was old and in bad shape, and he then came back again later the same day when some faucet's needed to be cleaned out to work properly. After careful examination I feel I can trust Peter to do any plumbing etc. work that he does, with care, experience, efficiency, and expertise, and to be available in emergency. He is also a kind and engaging person, and family man.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The problems with the bathroom's plumbing were assisted by Peter. There was no need to re-tile because of the creative metal cover plate that was put; instead, our 1970s faucet and knobs were replaced with a single, modern knob that controls the pressure and temperature very efficiently. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Customer service is a top priority for Waterworks Mechanical. When I first acquired my house, I used them for a lot of routing goods. Peter was the technician sent out to fix my boiler when I called them earlier this month. He was prompt in determining the problem and checking that my heating system was operational; during our conversation, he also indicated that his company specializes in HVAC systems. Well, they've won a lifelong fan in me. Not only are the costs low, but the service and quality of the staff are top-notch.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called Waterworks Mechanical in Medford when my basement toilet began leaking late one Saturday. Peter responded within an hour, diagnosed the problem, and got it fixed fast without overcharging. His work is precise, and he took the time to explain what went wrong and how to prevent it. Pricing was fair, definitely what you'd expect from a local plumber who still values integrity. If you need honest, reliable plumbing or heating services around Medford, Waterworks Mechanical is a name you can trust.
